Waking up in Fairbanks, Alaska on September 18, 2013 to a summ-fall-winter wonderland:
All the summer and fall foliage meshed well with the white snow. It was kind of gorgeous . . .
I sat down at Smith Lake to watch two beavers building a lodge.
They were really cute to watch; like cuddly little water-dogs playing fetch with sticks. Suddenly, their little water puppy materialized a few feet in front of me, watched me for a few seconds, and swam away.
Shortly after, mom realized I was there and told me to leave . . .
I obliged and went on my way. The contrast and color in the lake and all the ponds was stunning.
There were a couple of tundra swans as well (I think, it is hard to tell the difference between tundra and trumpeter at this distance).
There are more photos and prints available in the gallery.
