A little sunlight returning
A little late-afternoon light on the trees – Prints, Downloads, and Wall Art

I haven’t taken many photos since taking over management at the climbing gym where I coach last fall. It’s been a hectic, unbelievably busy ride, but I’m finally starting to find time to get out again. The pause in writing and photography was always meant to be temporary, but it’s taken a little longer than expected to reach a point where I feel comfortable stepping away for a few days at a time.

I needed a bit of a kick-start, so I took a few short walks near Fairbanks last weekend. Mid-February is when I really start noticing the return of the light after the deep darkness of December and January.

For about three months of the year, I drive to work in the dark and drive home in the dark—something I’ve never liked. But yesterday marked the first day since November 6 that the Sun rose before 9 am. It’s noticeable. The light is coming back.

These were just a few of my favorite photos from Saturday. I am now back to keeping my Recent Photos Gallery up-to-date so you can see all the latest things I’ve seen.
